Your preferences for a pet:

Becoming a guardian for a dog or a cat is a big responsibility. Are you able to make that commitment?
Are the pets living in the household up to date on heartworm prevention and flea and tick control?
Are all household members in complete agreement to becoming guardians, caring for and training your new pet?
Do any household members have allergies to pets?
Do you have a yard?
Do you have a pool?
If yes, is it securely fenced?
If yes, do you have a fence?
Will you be able to transport your pet to vet appointments?
Would you be willing to work with our positive trainer/behaviorist to resolve any issues?

The Pet Cottage provides initial and ongoing support for guardians in building their relationship with their new pet. There is an expectation if you are having issues during the adjustment or at any other time you will ask for help.

We appreciate your interest in wanting to become a guardian. The Pet Cottage will review this information. If you are determined to be a capable guardian and your home is a safe place, we will let you know and will include you as a guardian family. Thank you!
